Logo and name

Since 1938, Betley and Wrinehill WI has brought together women from both the villages and the surrounding area, welcoming them to monthly meetings at Betley Village Hall as well as enjoying activities such as visits to stately homes, gardens and theatre trips. Newcomers to the area are especially welcomed and we aim to provide a great introduction to village life. .

Recent speakers have included a Paralympic athlete, Guide Dogs for the Blind, a nature filmmaker and a cookery demonstration. Among the activities covered this year, there has been a visit to the Dorothy Clive Garden, a trip to the New Victoria Theatre and a WI birthday lunch at Keele Hall.

Aside from local activities, WI offers events at county level and our National Federation promotes nationwide action on issues important to women and the environment.

Refreshments in the form of tea, coffee and biscuits are provided at our meetings and visitors are welcome to come along to most of our meetings for a voluntary contribution of £4 per person (to help towards the cost of the hire of the hall and the refreshments) which is deducted from the membership fee of £44 if you decide to join. This is an annual fee from April to March, which is reduced on a pro-rata basis for less than a year. You’ll also receive a monthly magazine, WI Life. We have welcomed an encouraging number of new members this year and are on the lookout for more!

Meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. So why not come along give us a try?
You won’t regret it! “

Forthcoming activities are a trip to Cheerbrooks Farm Shop in Nantwich to see behind the public areas, a supper evening to raise money for a local Women’s Refuge Centre, a live streaming of the Nutcracker and lots more!
